Head - Street Food Program NASVI

With over 25 years of experience in the social sector, Sangeeta Singh heads Gender, Advocacy and Enterprise Development at Nidan, and Street Food Program at NASVI. Under her leadership, Nidan and NASVI has collaborated extensively with various multi-stakeholders including Ministries, Food Safety and Standards
Authority of India (FSSAI), civil society organizations, and international organizations to bring policy level interventions. She curated National Street Food Festival as tool of advocacy to bring all the stakeholders at one
platform to get the law for street food vendors, through which street food vendors have got great visibility and recognition also.

Through Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and other agencies, she has led a team to train more than 2 lakh street food vendors across 26 states and U.Ts. Singh is also working on clean cooking transition of street vendors in Delhi. She took the unheard food vendors of Delhi to Netflix’s Street Food: Asia series, wherein she highlighted stories of street food vendors.
She shifted the spotlight from mainstream superchefs to local heroes and brought global attention to the challenges faced by street vendors.
