Rituraj Singh Pundeer
Rituraj Singh Pundeer hails from one of Dehradun’s oldest lineages, tracing his roots back over 450 years to Raja Kawal Singh, after whom Kanwali village was named. Deeply connected to his homeland, he has dedicated his life to revitalizing Uttarakhand’s agriculture and dairy sector. Despite earning a B.Tech and MBA, he quickly realized that a conventional 9-to-5 career was not his calling. After brief stints in real estate and mining, he found his true purpose in agriculture—an industry vital to Uttarakhand yet struggling due to migration and
farmer distress. His extensive travels across rural India as a photographer further exposed him to the hardships faced by farmers, solidifying his resolve to build a sustainable agro-based ecosystem Determined to master the science behind dairy, Rituraj pursued specialized training at NDRI (National Dairy Research Institute), where he studied bacterial cultures and fermentation
techniques used in the dairy industry. This deep technical understanding of cultures and fermentation has allowed him to perfect the process of crafting high-quality dairy products, particularly one of India’s nest ghee varieties, rooted in both tradition and scientific precision. Through his city-based agro-initiative, he is empowering local farmers, enhancing dairy production, and ensuring Uttarakhand’s rich agricultural heritage is preserved and recognized on a national scale.
By merging tradition with innovation, Rituraj is rede ning India’s relationship with dairy, bringing his people Back to the Roots, and championing the legacy of ghee—a cornerstone of Indian culture and nutrition.
